Maybe my hair color theory should be considered debunked, then. This whole time I was only considering playable characters, huh.

We thought it was when DD was announced. Tyrell was actively using lightning in the artwork. Instead, it reinforced it. Hell, Eoleo was being held up as a solid example - Redheaded, and most likely Venusian due to his proximity to the Ankhol Ruins. Unfortunately, he wound up reinforcing it.

I assumed Eoleo was Mars because he had red hair in TLA, huh... lol

Aye, but there were plenty of people pulling for hair to be independant of element (myself included). DD pretty much canonized it, though.

Hm, I still think it's probably a design choice and nothing plot related, huh.

I personally like how hair colour is affected by element, but I'd rather it be more of a possible override than a forced one. For example, natural colours like blond, brown, black and the more common ginger could have be element, but special colours only being possible for the related element, so no Venus character could have blue hair and only Mars could have bright red hair naturally. Of course, there's still the possibility of hair dye, but that just makes everything confusing in game design so I'd rather dyes be ignored completely when characters can have weird colours naturally already.

Either way, there is a rather large amount of colours available to each element so it really isn't all that restricting. Any colour that relates to the element is fine, so it's very wide.

I just figure each element has its own version of Blond, Bruntte, and Redhead. They all have a kind of genetic factor, but the elements give it a kind of fun spin because... well... you gotta have blue hair. :P

I think the colors would be:

Brunette: Brown hair (venus), Red Hair (mars), Purple Hair (jupiter), Aqua Hair (mercury)
Blonde: Blonde (all elemental variants)
Red head: Green Hair (Venus), Blue Hair (mars), Green Hair (jupiter), Blue Hair (Mercury)

That's my take on it, at least.

I thought that same way too at first, but Ms. Rolina's got a point: Saturos has blue hair.

I think for the main characters it was a design choice to fit their elements as many other animes do. For the antagonist I think it was to show how different they were and to bring across that they are the bad guys in terms of design.

We can always theorise that Prox used to be full of Mercury adepts hence the blue hair but then became Mars Adepts to survive in the harsh enviroment.

That's nn interesting theory, but why wouldn't hheir hair color change, huh? I mean, we're talking evolution, right?
