Does anyone else think that'd be cool? I imagine there are other games that would have cooler anime, but I think a Golden Sun one would be very nice. |

Uh... not in today's anime scene, hell no. Let's wait until the moe boom dies first. |

I meant in general. Like, if the make an anime in the past, present, or future, how do you think it'd turn out? |

...Not sure. I figure they're just as likely to miss the point of the story, much like with what happened to Negima. |

I wouldn't mind if they made it now if they made it right. The moe blob is not all powerful. Fate/Stay Night and Rokka both made it to the screens and neither of them were caught in the moe blob. Granted Rokka has a few outfit issues, but that's a completely unrelated problem. The same goes for God Eater. No moe. This one has many problems in both writing and art style, but moe isn't one of them. Golden Sun has a pretty good story, if they were to adapt the first two games into a show it would probably turn out interesting at the very least. If people don't start making shows that fight the moe blob, it'll never go away, and even if it does get weaker there's no guaranty the show won't get stuck in it anyway. Or that it'll be replaced with something better. I'd rather believe they wouldn't screw up if they tried to adapt it. It's likely they will do something wrong, but the possibility of it being good still exists so I wouldn't mind giving them a chance. |

Hmm, if only Camelot would release rights to a studio to make it. It'd bring up a whole lot of questions for the story, though, since Isaac and Felix would have their personalities lifted from what can be found in TLA and TBS, respectively. Also, the meetings on each of the lighthouses (though Venus, in particular) would be interesting as heck, to be having a dual-viewpoint thing going on. Furthermore, I wonder what kind of literary liberties they'd take... It kinda reminds me of that supposed gritty Castlevania III anime/cartoon that's supposed to happen at some point (Bless you, Konami, for releasing those rights - I think). I don't know if it would stand up as well as the original work, but if the studio has fans of said original work working on it, or some greater body of reference than just having heard about it, I think any anime adaptation could and can be pretty great. However terrible the moe blob is, imagine an ecstatic, moe Kraden going insane about Lemuria. I dunno about y'all, but I'm picturing something truly hilarious right now. As would a JJBA-styled Isaac challenging Felix on the Jupiter Lighthouse. Edited by Cato Felix, Dec 5 2015, 03:17 AM.

I want to see Isaac and Felix battle. To be honest, I thought Isaac was being too weir dwhen he just changed his mind because Felix was protecting his friends. |

I would pay money to see this!! :D What genre anime do you think? I'm thinking it would have to be a shonen anime to fit the story line. Lots of swords and super powers to boot. Also I would guess that they would have to tone down the number/variety of Djinn for the sake of simplicity. And maybe make the few Djinn that they do include have bigger roles/personalities like Flint did. |

I imagine they wouldn't even make a big deal about Djinn. Like, they'll probably bring them up, but considering the nature of anime I'm sure everyone will retain their base classes and the plot will be much more important than collectable cute creatures. It'd be a shonen for sure, but I think they could kick up the intensity with some awesome animation. Isaac would be boring if he just used normal sword skills. Imagine if he jumped around and did backflips and such using pillars of earth and stuff as platforms to get around. I didn't watch much of Avatar, but I gotta say that the earthbending is pretty cool. Imagine that but with swordplay and giant psychic hands! |

I think it'd have to be shonen, yeah - also, there'd have to be quite a bit of character development and growth. It'd be boring to have static characters, throughout. I imagine there'd be a number of filler episodes to show little problems occurring within or around the group as they go, preferably with over-arcing storylines within that - like, by gathering Djinn, or picking up a rare drop (Tisiphone Edge or Kikuichimonji, anyone?), or something along those lines, the characters become noticeably stronger, or at least tangibly so. I can see some of the Djinn being awesome, and going like, "Oh hey, I've been looking for you!" to others being like that really annoying one on the lowermost floors of Crossbones Isle. |

Videogame anime adaptions seem to not often work out very well, unfortunately. Long running anime are becoming less common these days and even two cour anime (24-26) seems to be getting increasingly rare. On the other hand, the Golden Sun series might not do so badly adaptation wise. There isn't too much story to get through. TLA feels much longer than the first game, but that's because it's mostly padded by exploration, side questing and item collection. I think the first two games could fit into a two cour anime pretty easily and not be a total disaster. Might be just a bit rushed though. |

Is that really so? I haven't kept up on my anime very well in recent years, but every single one I've watched has followed the format... ...granted, I'm also always several years behind the new releases. For instance, last one I watched was, I think, Shin Seki Yori |

Not that I'm aware of, though I began watching those somewhat recently so I wouldn't know how it was many years ago. 24-26 episodes aren't uncommon from what I've seen. Many of the ones I watched were 24-26 episodes long. It might be certain genres which tend to be shorter and the genres I watch are longer ones, but I didn't really notice a shortening in episode count in the last 3 years or so. |

I agree, which is really unfortunate. Most that I've seen have issues with pacing and revealing characters or plot elements too quickly in succession. I suppose most of them assume the viewer has already played the games and therefore they want to move along quickly; but it can be jarring even for those who are familiar with the source material. The Persona adaptations had some of these issues but ultimately it was still pretty well done. I was watching the first few of the Devil Survivor 2 anime adaptation though and they just dumped a bunch of stuff onto the viewer within the first two episodes. |
