Yeah but the scenario is pointless if you can't really do anything with it. I could train for eternity but never get strong, why even live? I can't even not live! I'm taking the first wormhole out of this broken dimension! |

Yeah for this scenario it's assumed that your mind/memory exists separately from the physical plane. It would be interesting to see how far technique could take you in terms of fighting. Like, your body wouldn't get stronger but the longer you train you become much better at controlling your own body. (I'm going to assume that things like muscle memory and nerve activity outside of the brain and stem are not reset, in other words they would be counted as part of your "mind") |

Yeah, but what good is that? An entire half of martial arts is body conditioning! If I can't have strength, technique becomes meaningless to me! Without either of those things, life itself becomes meaningless! I guess the only sensible thing for the human race to do is to invent time travel and break free from the loop. |

Thing about the situation is, any physical machinery needed to do any sort of time travel would still have to be build in 24 hours. Yes, they have infinite time to figure out how to do it, but it may just not be possible. It isnt supposed to be a perfect scenario. So many people on earth would not be in a position to get any sort of benefit from this. So many people would be cursed with eternal pain and suffering. Everybody would, after enough time, not have anything more that they want to learn, and would be in a similar spot to you. Unable to further themselves the way they want, and unable to even stop living. |

It's ironic considering that most people consider life and time some of the most valuable resources, but we often "spend" them in order to progress. When we have unlimit the resources but in exchange hard-limit progress to 24 hours the resources can seem valueless. |

But at least we don't have to worry about birth control anymore, right?! |

Not after you have the law enforcing corps torturing those who break the rules. |

Yeah, but what is stopping you? Conceal your identity, time your actions efficiently, have an escape plan that is based on the reset... You could escape anything and everything on the reset. At that, if you're a real neatfreak you could even incinerate your own body to remove all possible evidence they could gain from your body! |

Once they identified you, and figure out your starting position, it becomes a game of cat and mouse. Police would be briefed on their objective, based on their starting position, so they can start immediately. Bounty hunting might become more prevalent; eventually everyone around you is specifically trying to capture you in return for whatever. Rape is interesting because I understand the real damage is mental rather than physical, so it would be just damaging over the long-term. Unless such mental trauma could be considered a physical change in the brain the same way a child's development is... |

I don't really understand the problem with actually getting captured though. Torture won't break everyone, and they'd have to be recaptured every time. There's going to be too many criminals for the authorities to recapture over and over. |

I dunno about that - for the first while, sure, people would act without thought. But as there is no long-term profit or benefit, petty crimes would lose their value, gaining only the disdain of those around them. I think given enough time societies would quiet down and most people would just adopt a day-to-day life similar to what they have now, though it would be less materialistic or productive. Imprisonment aside, given enough time everyone will know who you are, and society will simply stop giving you the time of day. And everyone will become exceedingly efficient at suicide, making it difficult for criminals to even really ruin someone's day; they could just off themselves and start over tomorrow. Interestingly, grocery stores and the like would become open and free, probably even close-to-ready without anyone doing anything, so people could just stroll down whenever they were hungry and grab something. |

I'd like to think that every day I'd get to cause as much chaos as I can, then the next loop I'd try to beat my 'highscore'. The anarchist's dream come true. |

Interesting note that all enforcement of order would realistically have to done by people less than 24hours of travel away, though the organization of it could be done via telecommunication network. |
