I believe there's a promise I made to you I never actually followed up on. It's about time I fixed that :)

So here we go. Basically this is a bunch of pictures around my old, old house before I moved last year. I kinda sat on these for a while, originally hoping to get out again and get better ones, but sadly I never managed it, so these will have to do :)

Anywho, pics.

All of the Outside

This is the general area around where I lived. I used to go walking a lot around there, and managed to find a decent night to grab some pics :) Sorry some are a bit repetitive, and some are flat out blurry. I suck at photography -_-

My Old House

A few pics of the house I lived in. The place was kinda run down, it's funny that I never really noticed how much until after I've moved...

Just for you Sagie :)

An idea I had while taking a lot of these, thought you might appreciate these the most Sagie :)

I kind of wish I lived in the countryside again!

How is the new place?

Haha, so do I :) I really miss being able to just walk outside the house, and within a couple of minutes be out somewhere away from everyone else. Kinda gave me space to think and stuff...

The new house is ok, better than the last one. Tbh, my bigger problem is who I'm living with. Not to say I dislike my friend of his family, but I'd rather be on my own I think...

oh goodness Phoenix, my heart just melted at how gorgeous all that is. AND THE SHEEPS!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 so cute, so silly, so fluffy. oh gosh. now I need to compose myself. Thank you so much for taking these and sharing them...what a gorgeous, gorgeous place.

So, cultural question: is it socially acceptable to just kind of roam around like that? Did you stay on the roads mostly? I ask because...there's not really any place to do that here. I mean maybe in rural areas moreso, but my experience is that all the farmland is pretty well fenced off and there's not a lot of just open country you can take walks through. It's really sad for me, because I always want to just wander for awhile but there's no place to do it.

From my experience as a wandering kid in the usa you can walk through, but you might be threatened with a shotgun unless you know the neighbors well hahaha.

Walking along the roads or through places where nobody seems to live is usually what works best for me.

Yeah, it was a lovely place to live. Posting up these pictures has made me really miss it all over again though... :(

A lot of it was on roads, but the UK countryside is literally littered with public footpaths and public bridleways that are free for anyone to use. The sheep pics were taken from one of those. Obviously it's expected that walkers show some consideration if they're passing through farmland, i.e. closing gates behind them. There's also something called Right to Roam, but I'm not sure on what exactly it entails, I'd have to look it up :)

That sounds lovely. I wish we had that. Where I live now I am lucky if there is even sidewalk to walk on.

When I was a kid and lived in a more rural area, people were very protective of their private land.
