Moral alignment definitely does help in the motivation and spiritual/physical strength areas. Fighting for what you believe is right always makes a big difference.

No one should let up when their dreams are on the line, and for some even after the dreams have been vanquished they keep on going to avenge them. Keep it right, or put it right.

I'm honestly very impressed by how humanitarian you seem. Being able to live my life in a way that helps people is very much something I wish I could do (or at least, do better), and you seem very both very dedicated to that and also give the impression that you are actively doing stuff to realize that goal, which is more than I can say most of the time.

Thank you for your interest!^^ Sometime it seems there's nothing you can do but.. it's not true, there's always something you can do or at least try! It can be even a small thing but it always makes a difference.

I wish I could do even more too! It's not easy to find people around who want to help.. and sometime it's a really hard for you to find your inner power to realize all things. But it's always worth giving the happiness and hope for a better tomorrow.

Anywho, figure I can have a question, so... Sagie: What's your favorite aspect of science and why?
I'm so sorry, I don't think I actually ever saw this! I didn't mean to ignore your question.

I'm not much of a scientist. I love science as a thing, I'm just not too good at it. I think if anything probably the practical aspect: "I want to know x. I am going to do something to find out x." My favorite science I ever did was examining pond water from the pond at our college over six weeks. It was wonderful to see how things changed and see the living things bugging around in there.

Probably life science. I love plants and animals. <3

Random question for anyone: Is there someone in your life that has set a good influence on you? If so, how?

I have learned from my father (though he has never said this to me explicitly) that excuses and justifications don't matter when deep inside you, you know that you have done something wrong. I have also learned from the priest at my local parish that because almost everyone does something, that does not mean it's right. I don't know if they are truly right, but I have come to believe that they are. Hence I regard them as the best "good influence" on me and I am grateful for them.

Also (and this may sound self-righteous, but I hope it's more interesting if I answer honestly), there is a couple of former close friends of mine who set what I think is a bad example, behaving like the kind of person that I think I could be, but I don't want to be. That has allowed me to have a very clear image of the kinds of behaviours I'd rather avoid, and in that sense (paradoxically), being around them for a while has turned up to be something good.

There are a few people that have been a good influence on me.

One I can name is a former coworker that had immense trouble with alcohol in his past. He managed to build a new life and is now someone I view as a very solid guy; he can be friendly and compassionate but doesn't take things too seriously when they don't call for it. How to make that call is something I aspire to learn.

Like Nikki mentioned, I have quite a lot of people in my life that pushed me in a good direction from their bad behavior. My parents, boss, and some of my friends and acquaintances have shown me that there is right selfishness and wrong selfishness. It's okay and important to say no to things that you don't want, and to go take the things that you do want. And that you only get one life, and the future is not guaranteed. I am still working on building myself up.

Used to be a forumer here by the username of Legend Keeper. This is way way back in the day.

Anyway I was like 12 back then and about as indifferent about my faith as a 12 year old usually is. He's the one who first got me to both care about it, but also to question it and ask why I did the things I did. He's simultaneously the reason I care so much about my faith today, but also why I struggle. I don't even think he realizes how much what he did and said influenced me--he had a way of always saying what I needed to hear at the time I needed to hear it, without even realizing there was anything wrong.

He left all contact with the public internet after I'd known him almost two years and we didn't speak for ages. Few years ago though we got back in touch. To give you some perspective, we had last spoken when I was in eighth grade, and when he got in contact again, it was a week before my wedding. It's kind of amazing to speak to him as an adult, though he still doesn't understand why he meant (and continues to mean) so much to me, both as a friend and mentor.

My dad is mostly the cause for my personality and interests. My dad is my number one hero, and I aspire to be a great dad just like he was.
