Skincare: Is it important?

There are a lot of products out there related to skin care. Which do you use? Which do you skip? Which do you think are bogus? Post 'em!

I personally use sunscreen when I plan to be out in the sun. (it's by Elta MD)

Otherwise I just wash my face with warm water and it does fine.

Sometimes if my skin feels dry I will put some Vaseline on there and it works great.

I...don't like putting stuff on my skin. I'm really weird about it, and just hate having to put on lotion, sunscreen, bugspray, etc.

I am sun-intolerant, so I always wear countless layers of sunscreen...

I feel you man, mostly for me I am just lazy hahaha. So I only put stuff on when I feel like it's really required.

Bugspray is really quite nasty though no matter what; I don't think it can be pleasant, or it won't deter the insects! lol

I put sun lotion on when it's warm enough to require it, rare as that is.
And just general moisturising cream when ever I remember/can be bothered, which isn't often.

My mum swears by moisturising cream, and to be fair her skin does look good for her age...

I only use warm water to wipe my face off, sunscreen if I need to (and in the state I live in, it's important) or baby oil/Vaseline if need be. Otherwise, I don't really do anything to my skin to really 'care' for it. As long as it's maintained fine and is healthy. I have to be careful for what I use anyway; my skin could break out from the simplest application of something I haven't seen/heard of.

Sunscreen is pretty much important to use all the time if you work or play outside, if you live in Australia like I do.

One of the highest skin cancer rates in the world down here, partly because people continue to practice "sunbathing" even though it's proven to cause cancer.

I'd say if you include sunscreen then yes, skin care is important. Also it's just nice for your health to take care of your skin, and for ladies especially, it means you can stay more natural and not over rely on makeup. I like natural.

I personally could do more to take care of my skin. I'm one of those careless nerdy types. RIP face without pimple scars.

Pimples are hard, if your skin is too greasy you can cause more to pop up, but if you over wash you aggravate your skin and that can cause more issues. Luckily I don't have to deal with it anymore!

Why is that, Cipher? Just because you got older?

I manage to get pimples even though I'm 26. Lol, I must like buttered popcorn too much...

Damned greasy foods are just too good!

Yes I think it's age, as it seems to have gone away as I grew out of my teenage years. Everyone's body is different though, some people won't grow out of it unfortunately.
