You get one animal for a pet, and one only. This animal lives the same life-span you do--is young when you are young, and grows old with you. You bond shortly after birth and stay together for life. It is the same size as it would normally be in the wild. If the animal would normally be dangerous, the animal is in no way dangerous to you. Assume it behaves as a very well-trained dog in that it will obey your commands and be good to those you like, or everyone if you want it to, but can be potentially dangerous to those who want to harm you if it has the capability to be dangerous. Any other abilities it has (swimming, flying, digging, running fast, whatever) are retained, of course. No magical, non-existent, or extinct animals allowed. Pick your animals! |

Shucks, there goes all the fun. Guess I'll just stick to the fennec fox or red panda bear. Or a cat. Cats are good. |

It's a better, more specific rendition of the "What's your favorite animal" question. |

I was thinking the same thing. Not as a pet, perhaps, but you could have a lifelong companion. |

I was thinking more of a Princess Leia / Jabba the Hut situation |

It sounds really uncreative, but a dog that lives as long as I do would be pretty cool. :P I really like dogs. |

^ Imagine how smart a dog would be if he lived that long. I wonder what their intellectual cap is like? There is definitely a limit to their abilities but it would be interesting to see how smart they could get. |

I have a parrot.... Although he's not a parrot anymore, he got reclassified. We're in a competition to see who will live the longest. We fight a lot and he speaks really good English so he likes to tell me to shut up and stuff. :| |

Freaking BEAVER, y'all. Cute as heck and they could help me build a house or something. He could live in a lake by said house and I could come visit him and his little beaver family.
yikes. |

I...what? Reclassified to WHAT? I'd pick a lion. Fluffy, cuddly, fierce, big enough to ride. Yes. |

He's now considered a parakeet, and he's also in the endangered list. Despite that, they're very common as pets. He's a bluecrown. :P |
