Garoh is nice, but Air's rock isn't. Specially not to a first timer. They really managed to make it feel endless.

I guess, but I thought Air's rock had its charms.

Air's Rock can be pretty tedious, but I never really minded it. As with all of the other Rocks, I liked the concept of making your way through the foot of the mountain, climbing it all the way to its peak, and then exploring the ancient -insert element- ruins inside (though I remember really hating the puzzles within Magma Rock gaaah).

I guess Air's rock did what it was meant to do.
Oh yeah Magma rock. I like the rocks, but sometimes it feels too much.

Magma was frustrating. The Burst animation takes way too long, too.

I don't mind Magma Rock since the music is awesome, and I've always loved fire levels in games. I can tolerate Air's Rock since it's the only huge dungeon before the boat, and you get a really useful summon there. I like Gaia Rock since it has a boss at the end, and all the puzzle solving in Gaia Rock feels more meaningful since you need to do it for the boss fight. I don't mind Tundaria Tower too much either since it's not that long and its pretty linear.

The ones that annoy me the most are Aqua Rock, that sand temple, and Jupiter Lighthouse. It's unfortunate that my least favourite dungeon in the game is when we finally start lighting the lighthouses, but boy is Jupiter long and uninteresting. Fortunately it picks up a little once we get to Magma Rock and Mars Lighthouse, but I'm usually pretty tired of the game at that point. : (

Getting back on topic while on the subject of The Lost Age, I'd say Jenna is my favourite character in the second game. She's a fun character to play as since she can do a lot of different stuff, and I like her character design. I always felt she should have been the main protagonist over Felix, since I always felt the game was more about her than it is about Felix.

I mostly dislike Gaia Rock. I found its musical theme to be too fitting for a theme of wind rather than earth, what with all the pan flutes. I also didn't like its puzzles that much - unlike the other rocks, you mostly used elements other than venus to traverse the place, which seems out of place. At the same time, I wish the other rocks had a good boss fight at the end, or a spell that was as new and useful as sand. Gaia Rock may be my least favorite of the rocks, but it does have the most rewarding end IMO.

I love how you can use Sand in the overworld...
They should've made a secret dungeon around that.

You can use sand on the overworld!? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised I never noticed. I never would have used teleport on the overworld either if it wasn't for me randomly stumbling on the information while browsing the internet after beating the game. The back and forth Yallam-Western Sea by boat is boringly long...

Aw man, that would be cool. Like, there would be a tower that was completely surrounded by mountains which was located one patch of sand in the overworked, and you had to use Sand to access it. Then you'll be taken to the secret dungeon!

I know, right? At least it was cool how you could find secret stuff by climbing those annoying sand waterfall thingies, huh.

Felix is best adept IMO.

As for the rocks, I remember not being a fan of Air's, just because of how long it is, and how frequently I get lost. Aqua wasn't bad, but was borderline annoying. Gaia was pretty cool, because I liked the puzzles, and I enjoyed the story around it, with Izumo and the dragon. Sand psynergy is also boss. Magma was alright. Never bothered me, always seemed pretty short.

Wind was actually my favorite, huh. The outside was lame, but once I got inside... Holy crap, it made it cleaer that Weyard is a lot more interesting than it is at first glance, huh.
