:?: Is anyone watching Boruto?

What are your feelings? Would you recommend it?

I haven't finished reading Naruto but I know how it ends and what happened 8D I see screen caps and memes from Boruto everywhere, I didn't plan to watch it (lack of time and no desire) but I'm kinda interested now. Hm?

All I know is the meme that spawned from it: Referring to it as the sequel to Boruto's Dad and Boruto's Dad Shippuden. Which honestly, I find hilarious. Haven't watched the show though, so I'm afraid I can't really tell ya much - get my shonen fix from My Hero Academia. :/

Boruto is... something.

Unlike many others, I actually loved the later parts or Naruto much more than Boruto, and it's just kinda sad to watch Boruto basically flop around like a fish on land, huh. I know what it's trying to do and I respect it for trying to branch a new path instead of being a copy of its father, but the rate Boruto is going is slow and difficult to see it going anywhere.

One thing I loved about the original series is that when the filler is ignored, everything flows seamlessly from one plot point to the next. As soon as one conflict is resolved, another conflict that was cleverly established slightly before as opposed to immediately after springs up. While the big baddie is coming close to his end, another big baddie is already established enough that you know it isn't over.

That's part of the problem I have with Boruto. The Shin Uchiha arc was fantastic, but it ended with that, making it feel more like a one-off movie than an important arc to the story. The seamlessness is gone, and there isn't much going on in terms of action in general. Has anyone else found it kinda sad that the series' best arc so far was about Boruto's dad, Sasuke, and Sakura?

I couldn't say about the second picture, but honestly, Boruto bored me quickly. I gave it a chance, I think 10 episodes or so? And really, the one thing that hurt me the most when I started is how so many characters feel like complete clones of their parents. I get that techniques are handed down to the next generations, but most of the child characters are basically one of their parent with a different name.

Like, shikamaru's kid is just shikamaru again. He's got the whole bored-of-everything-super-smart thing going on, pretty much identical appearance-wise and doesn't really seem to have anything from his mother. And he's not the only one.

I also find it gets held back quite a bit by the later powercreep in Naruto, where the adults are so stupidly overpowered now that anything the kids manage and the adults don't makes no sense. Especially considering the number of basically clone kids, since their parent is just an older, superior in every way(and I'm not just talking combat skill) version of them at that point, yet somehow the kids succeed first for some reason.
