Ah, I see. Yeah, the problem with the whole Chi thing is what it's called in japan - Kung Fu. It's shows as being the strength of the body, while Ki is the strength of the mind (aka Psynergy). I think it's more akin to the Freelancers in my system based on conversations in Xian. I don't think they're quite on the same level as Adepts simply due to a lack of options, but because they specialize in pure physical combat I could see definite benefits. |

I have so many headcanons I probably can't even think of them all. I legit have this headcanon that Isaac and Jenna are no longer together anymore, despite having been confirmed to both be Matthew's parents. My reasoning for this is that Isaac and Garet ended up getting together, which is why they're living together with their sons in the lookout cabin instead of with their families. Tyrel and Matthew are close enough to be brothers, because they practically are. I perceive Sheba as being a natural jokester, constantly making the party smile with her wisecracks. Garet isn't as dumb and naiive as people believe him to be. I have a lot of voice headcanons, actually. The characters sound pretty distinct in my head. Isaac's voice is mid-range and kind of scratchy, typical to that of someone nearing the end of adolescence. I can see him being voiced by Vic Mignogna to an extent. Garet's voice is higher than you might think, around the same range as Isaac's, but maybe a bit deeper and not as scratchy. Ivan's voice is soft and smooth, slightly higher than Isaac's. Mia's voice is also deeper than one would expect, but still gentle and serene. Felix rarely talks, but when he does, his voice is relatively deep, at least compared to our other male protagonists. Jenna's voice is a bit higher than Mia's, and a bit more coarse, as well. Sheba's voice is pretty much Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender, maybe a bit higher. Piers' voice is soft and gentle, much like Mia's. Matthew's voice is much like his father's, though a bit more gentle. Tyrel's is somewhat shrill and high-pitched. Karis' voice is like Mia's. Rief has a stereotypical high-pitched anime nerd voice in my head, tbh. Amiti's voice, I feel, has a slight Saudi-Arabian feel to it, deep, a bit of an accent. Eoleo is deep and gruff, with him being a pirate and all. Sveta's voice is higher in pitch, but soft and mysterious. Himi's voice is insignificant much like her character in general. |

Since this place exists, I thought it was as good a place as any other for this. The elf race headcanon according to Delfes! The elven race lives hidden in forests. Many live as nomadic clans, moving from forest to forest around the world. However, they do have two great cities. Elves who do not wish to be nomadic live in those cities. The first is in Kolima forest, while the second is in Mogall forest. The Great Trees(living trees like Laurel and Tret) are well known and greatly respected by the elves who live very close to them. Some clans have been known to build small towns in farther parts of the world, but none of them come anywhere near the magnificence of the great cities and mostly go unnoticed. The elves craft great equipment suited to them. Most of their better equipment is light and quick to match their agility, however this does not mean they lack heavy armor and weaponry. The reason why many people believe elven artifacts are always light and quick is because the other races have yet to match the skill with which elves make their light equipment, making them much more easy to notice than their more common grade heavy equipment. notes/references used

I've always found Ivan to be the most interesting character. Ivan is deceptively cunning, and its shown MANY times during the game that he's picked up some tricks during his years working with a famous salesman. If you pay close attention in Golden Sun, you'll notice that Ivan is the one most frequently seeking information, much like how a salesman chats with their customers to get a read on them. I always got the impression the only reason Ivan ever joined Isaac on his quest was to eventually rescue Hammet. Ivan uses Isaac's quest as an excuse to stick around with these strangers that share his own mysterious abilities. While traveling with Isaac and Garet, Ivan's plan is to become stronger and eventually rescue Hammet. Right from the moment he joins your party, Ivan establishes his willingness to take advantage of a situation, and be somewhat deceptive about his end goals. Atop Mercury lighthouse, Ivan casually asks Alex why the Mercury beacon weakened Saturos' powers. Ivan is not only seeking to understand how the elements work, but tricks Alex into telling him about a weakness of Saturos and Menardi. Being an experienced liar himself, Ivan immediately sees through Babi's lie in Altmiller Cave and just forcibly reads his mind. Ivan takes advantage of the fact that his group saved Babi's life, and tricks the Colosso staff into giving Mia, Garet and himself front row seats in the audience, (for free mind you) with his true intentions being to cheat in the world's most respected tournament. This is my favourite moment in the game with Ivan, as it's the most manipulative he gets in either game. There are so many levels of immoral actions here, all while appearing to be the meekest member of the group. What a sneak. ;) |

I headcanon Isaac as a total dog person and the puppies you couldn't get past in the beginning of the first game was actually him being "Puppies! OhWhosagoodboy!" And he will get sidetracted in towns because he wants to pet a dog. I also think that Felix got kicked out of Vale after the Lost Age and basically wound up as a scapegoat for all the bad things that happened in Vale which is why he's vilified in the Sun Sagas, and that he's a lot more of the mom friend and a dork than initial perception partly because Saturos and Menardi aren't pointing a metaphorical gun to his head. Plus he's an incomprehensible giggling mess when drunk. Mia is actually pretty bitchy but she keeps it under wraps. Piers has a bitchy streak but unlike Mia it's just jackassish tendencies he also sports an undercut under that bandana thing and he's a cranky drunk. |
